4-53 detroit

Hey guys just wondering how hard it is to get my hands on a 4-53,4-53t detroit diesel? been having a little look around probably looking in the wrong places seam not too be finding to many

There has been a few around, though not the motor alone. I know of 2 Commers sold in about the last 12 months with 4/53's in them around $4,000 each, and I was at a Clearing Sale on Saturday and there was one in a weird machine that changed railway sleepers I think, it went for under $3,000 the whole machine. There is a Bedford for sale near Gunalda (QLD) that was on Gumtree recently that I think had one in it too, there was something on the forum about it and the bloke who had it for sale is on the forum from time to time.

You might have to keep an eye out for something with one already fitted to it.

I have seen them in loaders and some earth moving equipment.

Alternately there is all diesels who have one on their engines list, but it's $6500 .......

well there you go all I know is you can hear them along way away in the bush and sound pretty good as well
