Mowers - Collectable or rubbish?

More

Hi,

my father has been cleaning up a garage of a friend of his who was into small engine carby repairs and they turned up here today with a trailer of mowers and we are not sure if they are the sort of things people into mowers might collect or not.

Any suggestions or comments appreciated.

Terry

And 1,
the Victa looks like a possible full crank engine n are very torquey engines. The SuperSwift has some age to it as looks like an early Big Bob n desirable. The Rover or is it a Colt ride on is lets be polite, some one might want it especially if the gearbox is good as they use to use them on the old rideon racing mowers. I have one under the house n dont know what to do with it.
The engines are oldies n someone might want them for a base in good nick. Value, not huge but to a collector would be a big help. Most valuable is the SuperSwift n worth more if it runs, maybe up to $100.
If on Facebook there are a couple of Oz based sites, Oz mowers or Victa Mowers sales. Offer them up as a job lot cheap n they will sell

Dad had a Super Swift.  Would never start when hot.   He also had a block of land at Mt Martha.

Combine the two, so he decided to set a match to the dry grass. Needless to say, Mt Martha almost burn down in about 1969.

Carby repairs, eh? He certainly fixed the carby on the Supa Swift!

I knew the two mechanics who started Rover in a shed at Zillmere .....unfortunately be it Rover or Deutscher ,Australian collectors value Yank stuff ,and dont give a toss about Australian made stuff.

I've always liked the look of the low level Deutscher as it did what it had to with no bells and whistles.

There are still thousands of them operating in acreage areas.
