Kenworth Engine Colours

A curly one for the experts.
What colour were Detroits in the early sixties Kenworths.
Many say Alpine Green was the only colour GM's / Detroits were painted however many OEM's had engines painted to suit their machines ie Detroits in Inters were red.
I have seen in the flesh and in pictures early sixties Seattle Kenworths with white Detroits.
Does anyone have some facts ?

Well Basil...
I think the true fact of the matter is....
You need to relieve yourself of any further trauma and just continue, straight past go, do not even worry about collecting the $200..
Get down to your local Interland, would be supplier of pretested, premium draught horse sized shootin irons and get yourself fitted out with a beige Cummins.

chocs 8-)

Chocs, they were red in a 4300 Tramcar.

Mate of mine did his apprenticeship at DETCO, he used to have to go the White factory for the GM start ups and he told me White used to paint all the GM's they used that lime green colour, straight over the GM green.
Doesn't help you though Baz.

...yes binder the early/mid 60's Kenworths in Australia, up till at least late 1965 had the pea green colour...

...also the early/mid 60's Peterbilts we had out here originally came out with that ''caramel'' industrial yellow colour, but they also may have gone to that dirty white later in the model range....as described by the Peterbilt sales blurb...
