PBR brake controller

Hi all I have a pbr trailer brake / foot controller and the number on the unit under the bonnet is PV109mod 3 I am wishing to remove this as I do not need or use it and I was wondering how the cable came apart as to remove it through the fire wall with out cutting the cable. Regards Andrew
