Inter AA Series was created by Old Yella
G'day all, I've always had a soft spot for the AA's and am curious as to how common the 4x4 models are/were? I've heard of them but have yet to see one in the flesh. Although I have more projects on the go than is wise I'd like to find and have an AA120. Truth be told I'd probably be happy with another AA110. Can anyone enlighten me on this subject?
Cheers,
Paul. :)

Well I have 2 AA, I know there was 4x4 models but have not seen any my self

You can see mine at truck.haddow.id.au/

My manual says the 120 & 160 both had a 4x4

The more older trucks on the road&&The more memorizes of how things use to be.&&[url

Inters had 4x4 versions from the AR onwards. Not a huge seller but the PMG and Electricity companies used them.

I've had a D1310 4x4 and currently have a D1610 4x4, great 4 wheelers, go just about anywhere. As said, an AA120 would be great sitting in the shed, capable AND good looking :)

G'day, the 150 looks great. Got me thinking about a cab swap to achieve the desired 4x4, will have to look into it and see what I can come up with.

I wrecked an early AA120 4x4 (Pink!!, um I mean "Karri Tan") to get the ASW on the road.
If you got one (they're not that rare) You might want to put a big-knuckle diff under the front. (AB130 4x4, C1300 4x4)
The early one I had (open type grille, early gauges) had an NP201 transfer case.
They are a very cool looking truck, though I prefer the late AA (mesh grille, AB-type gauges).

Cheers.

Cheers Jarrod, just thinking out loud at present but if I can find the right trucks I might get serious. An AA110 cab on a factory 4x4 would do me.
,
Just put this old girl back onto factory wheels, 8.25's, made it a totally different truck to drive, very easy.
Cheers,
Paul.

Here are 2 period shots of a AA120 4x4 (with duals on rear). The duals can be seen better in the cropped shot.

Anyones guess on that one. Probably went to auction/tender in Rockhampton (QLD) not long after the AB's came out.

Being a semi Govt outfit - thats usually how it was done back then.

The Land Rover was replaced by a Nissan 4x4, and the Green Bedstead - by an AACO. And the Holden ute - with an XP Falcon.
