I CAME INTO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING & STILL HAVE MOST OF IT.........................
I used to be a truck driver,
but i am now not a truck driver ,
on a good day i can remember
that i used to be a truck driver.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

I don't know anything about this EH ute (EH utes and panel vans had EJ taillights, I know because I had one) but I read years ago that a family from South Africa was moving to Aus. and enquired as to whether it was worth bringing their Chevrolet El Camino ute. Dealers in South Africa told them El Caminos were worth a lot in Aus.
When They got it here, they found out it was a Holden, I think an HZ, built Left hand Drive and badged Chev El Camino for the South African market, and was worth less than they paid to ship it here.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all!

Doubtful it would have been LHD in South Africa, all those holdens and fords that were exported there were RHD as can be seen by the ones that are being bought back to Australia.

There is a photo on the net somewhere of a line up of LHD HR utes getting loaded on a ship bound for Hawaii.

Thanks for the comments guys. I took the photos in 2012, that must have been just after it arrived back home in Australia. I hear El Camino mentioned, there is one here in Perth that comes to a few shows, a very nice hard top ute, not your average paddock basher. Also at the GM day 2012.
I will see if I can find a South African or nearby connection as well.
Regards D&D

Several years ago, on a Studebaker forum there was a few old cars in a paddock in the US, one of which was a RHD EJ Holden sedan.......go figure!
I have a picture in a book somewhere of a New EJ in the Philippines.
Jarrod.
