I reckon the 17.5 will be smaller because they are the replacement for 8.25x15 lowloader tyres

I thought that he 17.5 were replacement size for 8.25 x 16 as on Lorry. Unless we are both right and there are a few sizes in the 17.5 range.

We have converted a few Low Loaders
from 8.25x15 tubed tyres to ......... 9.5x17.5 tubeless tyres (same carrying capacity)
we can also run a tubless along side a tubed tyre as duels = same D

also the primemover truck tyres
we went from 1000x20 tubed tyre to ......... 11Rx22.5 tubless (same carrying capacity)
we can also run a tubless along side a tubed tyre as duels = same D

tubeless runs out cheaper than tubed tyres
@ gr8 exspence to the management
we lashed out and bought one of these jiggers
as we like playin with out tyres

Cobba, how can it be 15" and 16" being the same dia? but seems they are. I have 17.5 on the front and 8.25 x16 on the back of my Isuzu so does work (9.5 has slightly larger dia). Haven't upgraded the rears for same reason as you. Also I am going 17.5 on my low loader but am using the low profiles eg 17.5R235 as they are cheaper than 9.5's but you must shop wisely to get the better speed and load rating. Doesn't take long to get sick of tube type tyres going pop on a low loader.

Its all in the height of the sidewall of the tyre. 8.25 x 16 should in rough numbers be
33" OD. eg 8.25 x 2 + 16 = 33.
I forget the 15" sizes now.
