I interrogated the owner of the beast
he swears black n blu tiz a 1974 model bilt @ KW Bayswater
the chassis #400128
KW started @ 400000 in Oz in 1971
therefore in 3 years = 128 trucks bilt
duzn't seem to add up
for a 1974 bild should B a higher Chassis #
or
ifn twaz the 128th truck bilt should put it 1971-1972
the new owner of the beast is a member of the Trafalgar Truck Club
they commenced to wash the beast B 4 Sandown truck sho n then decided it lookd better with the red outback stain
LOL
a few of us mentioned th@ the truck coulda been sufferin from shock
mainly cos of the cold wet weather n bitumen rds it would now encounter
it probly twaz a V12-71 powered now a KT Cummins
LOL

From memory chassis numbers were allocated when the order was placed but subject to customer requirements, availability of major components, etc the build order was different.
Checking some old records from my time at Bayswater, in one week in February 1977 I processed both 402146 and 402858 through Engineering - 700 difference!
