Rumor haz it th@ when they put the 2 lengths of chassis rail back to back to mark out n drill
they got the chief down to check it out
coz they were worried with all the left over rail n thort there twaz a mistake, but all twaz well, coz they'd never dun a short beast B4

Sadly, i didn't make it Sandown this year, yet saw the pics of this yellow beast and thought it looked like an ex Neil Mansell truck from up north??
Some of their trucks had a red stripe, others??
Just a guess anyway....

sandown v12 kw ordered for mining services firm bechtel pacific corp and used as support for rio tinto or their subsidiary's till latter days when sold.

When we broke springs on those lovely old Leyland Motor lorries up in the Territory, we would weld the busted leaf with an ordinary old 7018 low hydrogen rod, keep the heat into it while you belted the bejeezus out of the weld area with a good knockometer, then bury the leaf in sand for a slow cool down period. Never had one break after it was repaired. Still use the same repair methods now on some of the drilling gear the Arabs manage to wreck on me.
