There is "Made in China" and made in China in most things we buy. China is capable of making anything to match the best in the world. Some of the best machine tools, CNC lathes etc come out of China.
Personally, I don't give a dam where something is made, provided it is built to a standard and not just down to a price.

Totally agree

The problem is most people shop by price in Australia and whinge when they spend on a beer budget and expect the champagne result

Lots of people claim they don't shop by the dollars alone but I think they are kidding themselves

Companies don't spend millions on advertising the cheapest deals for no reason

Louie I Couldn’t agree more, I’ve been saying the same thing for years. I can’t see what people use for brains when buying Chinese cars tools etc. It will come back to bite you. They are ruthless, but people can’t or won’t see it. It will be here sooner rather than later.

Some people just don't get it, most are off with the fairies, the Chinese workers are dying on their feet so the elite can dominate the world market, I have nothing against the Chinese workers, for the rest of us it's like sitting on the railway tracks when the train is coming, for me it's nothing to do with price or quality but the bleeding obvious,

Saw an interesting comment somewhere.
EV drivers should only be allowed to recharge their cars using wind or solar generated electricity.

Not sure about the logic of that, but if they are charging during the day they would be pretty much Charging on green power.

Dunno Cobba, I guess if that happens, petrol and diesel vehicles wont be allowed to use electricity to run the bowser or lights in the servo

Could be the thin edge of the wedge

That been said, I feel your probably refering to the photos of EV charging of a diesel generator
I sort of understand that, it is a bit touchy feely, but not genuine

I see that South Australia has run for full days recently on renewables, which reminds me of a saying that was probably one of my dad's often used sayings "if you stand in the middle of the road, you will get run over eventually" I think we can remove the eventually from that now in relation to renewables, you may not fully appreciate the meaning but for me as an industrial electrician it is major when you get head around the load, I think the Bus is just about to hit poor old Dutto
