Abbott's Semi bus

ok you super sleuth's. Yes you. You that drive along and look under trees and inside sheds when you should be watching the road..
I'm looking for this bus, as seen in it's heyday (I went to school on it )

I am away from resources. The group has had a couple of threads on semitrailer buses. AFAIK the whole lot in their working lives are documented on line. Subsequent history is hard. What state?

HAY Charger, When you went to school in it or on it as you stated did they have someone in the bus part to keep you kids under control or did you all just behave your self like little angels [smiley=engel017.gif] [smiley=engel017.gif] [smiley=engel017.gif] [smiley=engel017.gif] We had enough trouble on our bus with the driver in there with us to keep control.

Yep also spent some time up the front of the Bus

Abbott's was based at Victor Harbour (SA), now called Victor Harbor.
From memory ( ) there was a bus prefect who would dob. All in all it was good.
geoffb, what years and where did you live?

In my early days as an editor, I was informed that all habour names in SA were gazetted as 'Harbor'. The railway station at Victor Harbor was signed 'Harbour', possibly in error.

I have just been to the online bus fleets list, which covers current and historic, and it doesn't include Abbott's at all.

The WA editor tries to keep the historic list up to date with disposition and current location; I don't know if the SA editor does the same.

I do have a copy of Australian articulated buses, bought after an earlier thread, but I have to find where I have placed it.

I too went to school on Abbotts buses but not the semi , I remember the old green and cream bus diamond reo, never remember getting to school on time ( Victor harbor primary) still remember the Haybough bus route pretty well
