Here are two from Jeff Bounds showing the prime mover used by contractor Coleman Rail for placing ballast. My memory is that it is a Kenworth, but I can't be sure, and have no idea re model.

Another from Jeff Bounds. I can't guess the prime mover, or the operator, but L Arthur (West Melbourne) gets a lot of the railway-transfer traffic.
This one was heading to a private property. The railmotor is supported on its own frame, with some interface between its bogie pivot and the prime-mover's turntable, and likewise at the rear: sitting on a three-axle road bogie. Somewhere in the history thread is a vintage photo of one of these being trucked from Alice Springs to Larrimah (six were built).
