Hello all, I'm very new at this forum stuff and just joined the forum a few minutes ago.
I have a 1979 Boss with a 400 small cam Cummins and 13sp OD roadranger, all set up as a tipper and working every day (weather permitting). She a great old girl and I have owned her for a bit over 2 years.
I would love to know the history on her, meaning what it was originally ordered as and what she had in her.
I am also wondering if anyone knows where to get the good looking White Trucks mudflaps, and even the interior door badges for her.
I don't know how to upload pictures of her, maybe someone out there could explain that too.
Anyway, cheers for now
Bretto ;)

You have posted this in the section General Truck Chat, look on the front page and go to Forum FAQ ( frequently asked questions ), how to post photos is in there.

Welcome aboard ol' mate - can never have enough WHITE TRUCKS onboard -
This link will get you to the info on how to post photos -

You can still get " WHITE TRUCKS " mudflaps from your local Western Star truck dealer . I believe the mudflaps are all located in QLD , with only a limited supply still available . If you need the part No's just let me know , best wishes , Clarke . ;)
for all those WHITE owners - 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
and for those that don't own one

This is my girl, photo taken in May 2008, she looks a bit better now. Guess I better get the box brownie out for a few newer snaps.

Clarke, if it's not too much trouble, would you have that part number. The western star dealer is at Rocklea and I am at Everton Hills (Brisbane) not too far away. They would make her look a bit better.

I'm finding it really tough to find guys that know anything about trucks like mine, and I think that it has a lot to do with me blowing the late model trucks away when we are all fully loaded - the old girl knows no limits compared to late model stuff.

Do you know how I can trace the history from my chassis number?
cheers
Bretto ;)

Hello Bretto - what a tidy ol' girl . Re chassis no's . Make contact with Jake Brake ( Ray ) and he should point you in the right direction . ;D

Am also sending a contact email to Ray to see if he can check my chassis number.
Once again, thank you so much

Thanks Basil, :)
I would have loved my white to be fitted with a Detroit, but in hindsight the Cummins is probably a better bet considering the work i do with her everyday.
Anyway,, thanks again for the welcome

Hi Bretto, nice looking old Road Boss mate. I bought a heap of those mudflaps off Western Star when Clarke gave me the part number, they reckon they would be more made, if you have trouble getting some let me know via E mail or PM, I've got a few here. Beenliegh Truck wreckers have new door trims and some other Road Boss stuff. That one of yours looks similar to mine, and it's the same cab as the Later White 4000's. I've got a few bits and pieces here too.

Hi bigcam and thanks for your advice on Beenleigh truck Wreckers.
Here are some more pics of her, taken today as it is raining on and off and therefore no work today.

If you are familiar with Road Boss', then may I ask if you have or have ever seen the badges that fit on the interior door trims? There are marks on both door trims near the quarter windows and they are the same on both sides, looks to me like a badge was there. Do you know what the badge was, and/or would you have any?

Also the lower bright alloy grille section on my White is a bit damaged, another of those would be good too!

Lastly, my 13 speed overdrive gear knob is that worn out that it cuts my hands on a big day, do you know where to get new gear knobs for roadrangers??

Sorry to be a pain, but I do love the old chook and believe that she is worth every cent I spend on her
cheers again
Bretto ;)
