I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

That photo would have been taken 1953, at the latest.

There were still car carrying frames made of scaffolding pipe and clamps in the 1970s ...........the frame could be taken down for the return trip ........dont recall when all the fancy car carriers became the thing..........I knew a guy was carting Fords from Geelong to Brisbane with a Federal powered by a Hercules JXD ..........I fitted a Perkins for him.

Now if I could travel about in something like this with a van on the back like this, I might actually consider becoming a grey nomad

All these modern cars and vans do absolutely nothing for me

Obviously a future plan Paul, you have to be old to be a grey nomad.

V8Ian, Im grey nowdays, so old can't be far away

John your right about the fuel efficient V8 Inter, but they sound good

I have a vision, I reckon a AB wagon (no doubt made from a panel van) and Neuss motor in it

I reckon they are one of the best motors ever made, right up there with a 6354 Perkins

I know this makes me very uncool with all the 53 series GM lovers these days but it isn't my fault
