At blue Transtar that Assessor put up still gets around the east side off Melb. Still looks the same, maybe not as shiny anymore.
The fellow still runs it daily doing Asphalt driveways, comes in all the time to pick up asphalt.

There was a DCO getting around the Maryborough Qld area a few years ago. It was used for heavy haulage as it was a big truck in its day. The owner sold out to Brambles but kept the DCO for himself getting back into local work when Brambles left town. It was red with black headlight surrounds and was titled "Herman" As it had been with the one owner for so long it was looked after although not polished. I think he might have had a rag top Mack, but was bogie drive, sitting up the back but I haven't seen either for some time. Herman might still exist, and was a slimline cab.

The DCO tow truck in Sydney is alive and well. It was originally owned by an Interstater from new and Retriever towing bought it and used it as a wrecker for years. I heard last month that the original owner had been talking to them asking if he could buy it back to restore it once they had retired it. Info I got is that they GAVE it to the original owner a few months back and he is in the process of rebuilding it 8-)

I have arranged a get together with him after Christmas to get a photo history and current pics that I'll share on here. :)

Melonreo, nice score, what a weapon. There was a couple of 4070's in Sydney in a property for some time. I went past today and unfortunately they have gone :(

Some play hard to get

Hi All,

Does anyone remember the 4070 that John Dawson Removals was running?? Is it still around? :-/ I think it was early or mid 80's when I first saw I in Melb.

From memory it was a twin steer slim cab and with a (separate?) sleeper built into the pan; and on alloys to boot. Interesting concept i thought..

Cheers

Rob :)
