Trailer question was created by ray
I had a look at the Grays Online auction ad for the Macks etc. After reading through the trailer ads I have a question, what is a silly wheel trailer? I have asked around and no-one can tell me. Any ideas?

Ray, I would assume it has single wheels on a non load sharing axle as well as the normal single axle with duals. They used to use old truck front axles, it was done in the early 70's. You blokes have got an R190 in your club set up like that on the truck I think.

Silly Wheels! Not refering to the landing legs with wheels on them???
Think they where called Scammell coupling- English turntable legs combined, lot of Dairy Farmer Bedfords had them in Sydney???

Thanks Bigcam, having seen many examples of the set-up you described I just hadn't heard them called that. I have always refered to them as a "single wheel pusher" when fitted to a prime mover. Just goes to show that you never stop learning.

No it was on the inter when i bought it. i cant even remember where it came from either cooma or tumut.
Gee that was long ago.....
Just thought of a funny thing. If you look real close you will see 4 G clamps holdong the trailer on, No air lines , no trailer plug, No rego. Bought it down from Westmede.
The things you could get away with back then. Today you would be locked up for 4 lifetimes now...
