Ski pole didn't quite fit the look in the 30's. Those two eyes on the aft deck go down to serious brackets so they can tow if necessary.

I have some there, photographed at Goolwa (SA) Wooden Boat Festival.

Here is a c1960 wooden runabout which was donated to Queenscliffe Maritime Museum (Vic.), and which was displayed at a recent Geelong (Vic.) Wooden Boat Festival. The early Mercury didn't come with the boat, but museum selected it specially to match the style and the era.
