That's what seems to ring a bell for me too, but I can only think of what they looked like in the 60-70's, not old enough to get back to the '40's.

Greenie, I may have this mixed up with the uniform v
colours but I thought it was olive green and orange.

We had a thread perhaps a year back, and there was a matching one elsewhere. I bought the book on Australian articulated buses, but I can't put my fingers on it fast. It covers two era: those 1930s-40s-50s semitrailer buses, and the modern 'bendy' ones. It has a surprisingly good photographic coverage of the older era, and may well have colour of early Greyhound.

Well,
The colour of the White bus certainly seems to fit within the "H" part of HCVC.
Back to post #2.
My offer still stands.
Any one want to have a go?
Or are they in actual fact common as dirt and best used only as conversation starters?
How many are left?
Maybe a loose collective of capable restorers financed by them that can't do but that can kick in the cash?
How about a community benefit project (like the Lions and et cetera do) or a club project for use during events such as Haulin' the Hume?
Maybe even just buying it for a willing transport museum to hold/ display prior to restoration would be a good thing?
That would atleast get it away from private ownership and the ever looming threat of the scrap yard when it became to hard to keep or too rooted to preserve.
Just thinking aloud,
But if it is in fact one of the last complete units. . .

Better than eventually loosing it to a Chineese man. (we could perhaps tell the Swish it has a screemer init.)
'sides, coulda mighta at least tried to take people to the Top End once upon a time. (or got to the Alice out of Adelaide before returning south on the train all broke and busted.)
The Territory Government's always looking for small bits of Territory related history.
Why not put it in the Alice Springs Transport Museum?
It's dry down there.
Make them a gift.

(Humpty Dumpty had a petrol station and even a bit of a shop!)
Ahh, the good old days, when we were ALL young.

Bobsboy, who said anything about it going to China?
I'd say the current owner has no intention of scrapping it.
He has picked the thing up from Queensland and dragged it home, why would he scrap it?

Not that it was going to be.

The tinware on the side is the same as the "for sale" bus so this might be the right colour for it too.
