...Rodders ol' mate.....the Three Pointed Star is probably the most recognised logo in the world....corporate or otherwise.
....a startling example of this was when I had to deliver a Mercedes Benz car back to a dealer one Saturday when my four year old daughter asked from the booster seat in back "is this a Mercedes Benz ?"...I said it was, but how did she know ?. She said she saw the star on the steering wheel !!!
...Keep 'em coming mate

It's an L, LS or LK model ..... could be anything from a 1418 with a lazy/tag axle up to a 2624 ..... although I'd bet on it being a 1418 as the larger models sat higher and often had the headlights in the bumper.
As for the model designation .... and I'm no expert on these .... I believe the L stood for Last wagon (truck), the S meant tractor (as in semi) and K was for tipper chassis. MB designed a chassis specifically for either tippers or other uses .... I think many british makes did the same.
Now the cab over version was the LP/LPS .... which stood for Lastwagon Pullman. The first 2 numbers were the GVM of the chassis in tonnes and the last 2 numbers were the first 2 numbers of the approximate horsepower.
Hope that explains it Rod

I thought that I had posted this before, but I haven't found it.
120927Th Tighes Hill (Newcastle, NSW): Coal wagon transfer, Transtrac Australia Volvo. (Jeff Bounds).
Have the setting, and just the prime mover. As usual, I can't guess the model. The wagon body without bogies wouldn't be heavy: probably below 20 t.

It looks to me like a Volvo FM.
Maybe we should ask Swishy, he is the Volvo expert!

I thought it was too low for an FH
I have, however, been known to be wrong occasionally!
